This past Saturday we celebrated Grandparents Day by taking my mom to Whalon Lake in Bolingbrook, along with Jen, Noah, and Claire. Whalon Lake has a large lake where you can fish, kayak, boat, etc. and then there is also a nice dog park there. There is also a little trail and an area you can picnic at. We packed a picnic lunch and got off to a rocky start....

Next we headed over to the dog area where we gawked at all the dogs and got to pet a few going in and out of the dog park. Mia of course loved that! I had to laugh because this metal dog sculpture thing was on the outside gate and both the kids were petting it like it was a real dog or something.

Despite the rocky start, it was a beautiful day and we had a great time hanging out, eating, and walking around. The kids enjoyed seeing my mom and are so lucky to have such a fun, kind, giving grandma in their lives. :)
